Jose Marti Park

This large green area is devoted to political and Cuban writer José Martí (Havana, 1853 - Dos Rios, Cuba, 1895). Born into a Spanish family with few resources Martí was alongside Bolivar and San Martin, one of the main protagonists of the process of emancipation of Spanish America. In 1892 he founded the Cuban Revolutionary Party and the magazine Patria. It then became the top leader of the struggle for the independence of his country.
This park has a playground, a pond with fish and turtles, rest areas and a wide variety of tree species. Also remarkable for its monumental fountain known as "Dolmen de Agua".
